Cushman & Wakefield has secured an 11,000-square-foot (sf) lease for RSM US, LLP at Goodwin Square, located at 225 Asylum St. in Hartford, Conn., on behalf of the landlord, Goodwin Square Building, LLC.

“To the best of my knowledge this is the only new lease signed since the end of the first quarter in downtown Hartford,” said Jon Putnam, executive director at Cushman & Wakefield. “RSM continues the positive trend of new companies being attracted to Hartford from the suburbs or outside of the area.”

Goodwin Square is strategically located in the heart of the city, close to the Transportation Center, the XL Center, and Bushnell Park, with multiple highway access points in close proximity. Amenities include the Goodwin Hotel, various restaurants, a large beautiful atrium with ample seating, a fitness center with showers and lockers, a conference center, indoor bike storage, an ATM, 24-hour security and a parking garage.

“This lease brings the building up to 89 percent occupancy,” said Putnam. “The Goodwin Square owners purchased the complex in 2015 when the hotel was closed and the office tower was at less than 40 percent occupancy. They repositioned it successfully by fully modernizing the office building and parking garage, attracting prestigious new tenants such as Peoples Bank, Infosys, Morgan Stanley, and now RSM. They also sold the Hotel to a professional hotel operator which specialized in boutique hospitality venues adding a “cool” vibe to the Hartford hotel scene.”
