Scheduled for May opening, location represents 7th for fast-casual restaurant in Maryland
Poke Bowl has chosen Westview Promenade, a 200,000 square foot lifestyle shopping center in Frederick, as the site of their seventh fast-casual restaurant to open in the State of Maryland and first in Frederick County. Located at the intersection of Maryland Route 85 (Buckeystown Pike) and Crestwood Boulevard, the center is owned and managed by Hill Management Services. Ashley Zito, Leasing Manager for Hill Management represented the landlord in this transaction.
The Hawaiian-style fast-casual restaurant allows customers to build their own customized Poke Bowl meal or choose from among signature menu items such as Poke Burrito, Noodle Poke Bowl or Poke Bowl dishes featuring Ahi tuna, salmon, shrimp, chicken or crab meat. The build-your-own variety enables customers to partake in a process to create their perfect meal with up to three different proteins as well as choices for rice, specialty sauces, vegetables, fruits and seeds. The menu also includes a number of sushi and sashimi items.
Restaurant owner Yun Jiang currently operates locations in Baltimore City and Baltimore County, with additional sites expected to open in Anne Arundel County and Greensboro, North Carolina. Approximately six employees work at each restaurant.
“The poke craze is sweeping across the country because consumers increasingly seek healthy and fresh meals with high value, especially during the lunchtime hour,” explained Danielle Beyrodt of Hill Management Services. “The build-your-own concept has also become popular and Poke Bowl combines the best of both worlds. We have a tremendous amount of confidence in this ownership group as they have demonstrated the ability to successfully open and sustain several locations throughout the state. We are also comfortable with their measured expansion plan.”
“Young people particularly love poke-style food and we were attracted to Westview Promenade based on the favorable demographics in this section of Frederick County and because we will be the first restaurant of its kind to open in this region,” stated Yun Jiang. “Every time I visit the shopping center, it is extremely buy and we believe our restaurant will present an exciting new option for consumers.”
Westview Promenade is anchored by Regal Cinemas, a 16-screen movie theatre and features stores such as MOM’s Organic Market, Ann Taylor Loft, Jos. A. Bank, Chico’s, Gymboree and White House Black Market. More than 90,000 consumers reside within a five-mile radius of the center, including nearly 35,000 households with an average household income exceeding $85,000.
