Charlotte-based technology company Stratifyd Inc. that provides data science research-grade analytics solutions to companies worldwide, has raised an additional $9 million in equity

The company has now raised $29 million in equity, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

The equity was filed by Derek Wang and Tyson Barber from Stratifyd and Leiwen Yao of Tencent Holdings Ltd. in Hong Kong.

Last fall, the company raised $20 million in an equity offering from three investors with its first sale at the beginning of October. It did not disclose what it plans to do with the money.

Stratifyd is an end-to-end customer analytics company whose artificial intelligence-powered platform ingests omnichannel customer feedback and organizes the data, which gives anyone the ability to consume information and operate as a data scientist.

Its customers include companies such as Philip Morris International, Etsy and Kimberly-Clark. It’s also partnered with companies such as Mastercard, Dell and Microsoft.

In 2018, Charlotte Business Journal published their annual list, Fast 50, of the fastest-growing private companies in the area. Out of the 50 companies, Stratifyd received second place.

The Fast 50 are determined by the dollar and percentage growth in revenue over the past three years.

Recently, in January 2019, the Third Annual Finsiders CLT Awards ceremony was held and honored Charlotte, North Carolina, individuals and companies for achievements in FinTech. CEO Derek Wang won the award for Best Innovation.

“It’s exciting for Stratifyd to be recognized as the most innovative service because we work so hard and this reinforces that we’re putting our best foot forward,” Wang said in response to the award. “And the increased visibility this will provide will help us attract more talented employees and more clients along the way.”
