Melody Lynch Nominated to Serve As Chair of the Ninth Circuit Pro Bono Committee

Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor, & Reed, P.A. is pleased to announce that Shareholder Melody B. Lynch has been nominated to serve as Chair of the Ninth Circuit Pro Bono Committee, taking over for the Honorable Heather Pinder Rodriguez, the Ninth Circuit Judge who will remain on the Committee as Vice Chair. This position is effective January 1, 2019. The Ninth Circuit Pro Bono Committee encourages attorneys who are members of the Florida Bar and who practice in the Ninth Judicial Circuit, to provide free legal services to economically disadvantaged individuals and families in accordance to the Committee’s pro bono plan. The Committee also identifies unmet legal needs in the Ninth Judicial Circuit and recognizes exceptional pro bono service by lawyers and law students in Orange and Osceola Counties.

Lynch has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service since joining the firm. She is the immediate past president of the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association, and as a Guardian ad Litem, Lynch represents abused and neglected children. Lynch holds leadership positions on community boards including the Children’s Home Society, Central Florida Division and Vice President and President-elect of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Board of Directors. Lynch has been recognized for her community work by being honored with the Legal Aid Society New Attorney Award of Excellence and the Orange County Bar Association Young Lawyer Pro Bono Award of Excellence. Most recently, she was presented with the “40 Under 40” award by the Orlando Business Journal and the AFP National Philanthropy Day Emerging Leader Award.

Lynch is a founding member of the firm’s Privacy & eDiscovery Group. She focuses her legal practice on complex business litigation, probate & trust litigation, privacy & eDiscovery, and labor & employment litigation. She has worked on matters involving a wide variety of business disputes, employment contracts, non-competition agreements, non-disclosure agreements and trade secrets. Her estate litigation practice focuses on matters involving wills, trusts, or contested guardianship’s. Lynch holds a law degree from Stetson University College of Law and an M.B.A. from Stetson University. Lynch in a Central Florida native and resides in College Park, FL with her family.
