mabl Raises $10M Series A

2/21/18

mabl, the only automated testing service that automatically fixes broken tests and identifies regressions using machine learning, announced that it has raised a $10M Series A from CRV and Amplify Partners and is launching its service into free early access today. mabl is designed to serve as a virtual QA engineer, automating many of the time-consuming QA tasks that software teams struggle with today. The founders last worked at Google, which had acquired their previous company, Stackdriver, in 2014.

Gartner, Inc. predicts that 50% of enterprises will leverage intelligent test automation driven by AI and machine learning by 2021. This coincides with the rise of Continuous Delivery; teams that want to operate at the pace of CI/CD increasingly turn to AI-based solutions to overcome the shortcomings of traditional test automation frameworks. With intelligent test creation, maintenance, and analysis, mabl is helping QA reclaim its vital role in software development, improve product quality, and keep pace with development.

“We have interviewed hundreds of software teams, and their message is loud and clear: QA is struggling to keep pace with DevOps. This area hasn’t received the level of investment and innovation that we have seen in other aspects of modern development, and teams are forced to choose between quality and speed,” said Izzy Azeri, co-founder. Dan Belcher, co-founder, continued, “mabl is really about making QA automation as simple as possible. You can create tests in minutes and we handle the burden of running and maintaining them and analyzing the results.”

“mabl frees up Codeship’s team to build product, and that’s great for our customers. Nobody on the team has to worry about testing; everyone knows if there’s an issue, mabl will tell us, then we’ll fix it and move on,” said Moritz Plassnig, co-founder/CEO, Codeship.

“The mabl team brings world-class insights in DevOps, deep expertise in machine learning, and a level of technical horsepower, speed, and customer focus that I haven’t seen elsewhere,” said Murat Bicer, general partner at CRV. “I look forward to working with them to tackle this important and complex problem of helping companies increase testing efficiency.” As part of today’s announcement, Bicer has joined the mabl board of directors.
