ORIX Capital Partners announced today the addition of Michael Packer to its team as the Vice President of Business Development. Packer will lead the group’s deal origination efforts.

Based in New York City, ORIX Capital Partners is a subsidiary of Dallas-based ORIX USA. ORIX Capital Partners invests between $75 million to $200 million of equity in companies that share the following characteristics: strong market position and sustainable competitive advantage; durable business strategy that is resilient through economic cycles; profitable and scalable business model; growing industry; and a proven management team. Prior to joining ORIX Capital Partners, Packer drove business development initiatives as a Senior Associate for ClearLight Partners, a middle-market private equity fund. Before his time at ClearLight, Packer served as a financial analyst in the San Francisco office of Morgan Stanley, where he helped manage investment portfolios on behalf of high net worth families, institutions and foundations. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and also earned an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
