REBNY Celebrates Leaders in Residential Property Management at 20th Annual Breakfast

Adam Batista of Rose Associates Inc. is named Residential Management Executive of the Year; Mitchell Barry of Century Management Services receives the Residential Management Community Service Award

John Catsimatidis delivers keynote speech

At the Real Estate Board of New York’s (REBNY) 20th Annual Residential Management Leadership Breakfast today, members of the residential property management industry gathered at the New York Hilton Midtown to celebrate outstanding leaders in the field.

Adam Batista, Compliance Manager at Rose Associates Inc., was named Residential Management Executive of the Year. The award was presented by John McDermott of Ogden CAP Properties LLC, last year’s honoree.

Mitchell Barry, President of Century Management Services, was honored with the Residential Management Community Service Award. The award was presented by Michael Wolfe of Midboro Management, Inc., co-chair of REBNY’s Residential Management Council (RMC).

“We congratulate Mitchell and Adam on their stand out achievements, and thank them for their commitment to our association and to New York City,” said John H. Banks, REBNY President. “Through their dedicated service, they have made strides for the residential property management industry in technological advancement and service to communities in need.”

John A. Catsimatidis, Chairman and Chief Executive Office of the Red Apple Group, delivered the keynote speech and took questions from the audience.

This event is annually hosted by REBNY’s Residential Management Council—chaired by Elly Pateras of Douglas Elliman Property Management and Michael Wolfe of Midboro Management Inc.—and the Residential Breakfast Planning Committee, which is comprised of: Ellen Gribben Bornet, Rose Associates, Inc.; Linda Gawley, Charles H. Greenthal Management Corp.; Russell Heigel, RoseTerra Management; and Albert E. Mayas, Charles H. Greenthal Management Corp.

ABOUT THE HONOREES

Residential Management Executive of the Year, Adam Batista, oversees the Compliance Department at Rose Associates, Inc., ensuring that personnel are kept apprised of new regulations and adhere to all related rules and regulations that govern their vast portfolio of luxury residential properties. Prior to Rose Associates Inc., Adam served as Compliance Manager for AKAM Associates Inc. where he oversaw their portfolio of 330 individual co-op and condo properties. Adam received his education on the adjudication and enforcement process at Jack Jaffa and Associates after spending seven years in residential real estate property management with Buchbinder and Warren LLC, where he oversaw all compliance matters on a portfolio of over 150 properties. Prior to Buchbinder and Warren LLC, he served as the Lead Violations Coordinator at Milrose. Adam is a lifelong New Yorker who started his real estate career at Municipal Data Services.

As President of Century Management Services with over 30 years of construction management, physical plant, and real estate experience, Residential Management Community Service Award recipient Mitchell Barry manages over 10,000 residential condominium, cooperative, new development, and rental units in the New York metropolitan area. He has served on REBNY’s Residential Management Council for the past 25 years and serves on the board of directors for the Realty Advisory Board (RAB). Mitchell also sits on several non-profit boards, demonstrating his commitment to giving back to the community. The Barry Family, along with Century Management, has supported many philanthropic organizations and projects, including the Ronald McDonald House in New York City—for which they have raised over $5.5 million dollars through the annual Children’s Happy Face Foundations’ Fundraiser—and the Boca Regional Hospital in South Florida.
