Farmers in Central Virginia soon will have a local option for processing hops.
On Wednesday, the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors approved a special-use permit for a hops processing facility near Keene.
The company, Greenmont Hopworks, will dry and process the hops in its 10,000-square-foot facility mainly from July through September.
