Brooklyn Townhouse Prices Up 6% Since Last Year, According To Halstead’s Fourth Quarter Market Report

Townhouse prices in Brooklyn averaged $1,086,892 in the fourth quarter, a 6% improvement from a year ago, according to Halstead’s Fourth Quarter 2017 Brooklyn Market Report. The average apartment price in Brooklyn fell 5% from a year ago, as buyers favored smaller apartments, but at $671,068, the median apartment price was 3% higher than a year ago. Brooklyn’s average co-op price per room rose over the past year to $144,289.

Halstead’s Fourth Quarter 2017 Brooklyn Market Report also noted the following data:

  • Brownstone Brooklyn’s average price of one- to four-family townhomes experienced a 7% increase from the fourth quarter of 2016, to an average $2,532,652. However, apartment prices fell from a year ago, as high-end new development closings fell sharply.
  • At $670,941 the average condo price per square foot in Central Brooklyn was 7% higher than a year ago. Townhouse prices in the area averaged $893,918, a 4% rise compared to the fourth quarter of 2016.
  • South Brooklyn co-op prices averaged $88,410 per room, a 13% increase from 2016’s fourth quarter. At $938,925, the average townhouse price was 6% higher than last year.
