Renee Nunley Smith
Montgomery McCracken is pleased to announce that Renee Nunley Smith has joined the firm as of counsel in the Litigation Department and a member of the Labor and Employment practice group. Smith has represented national, regional, and local employers in employment litigation involving claims under federal and state law. Her practice also focuses on counseling employers on a wide range of employment issues and conducting workplace trainings and investigations.
Smith has represented employers before federal and state courts and before administrative agencies on matters involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, breach of contract, and wrongful termination claims. She also has experience counseling clients in a variety of workplace issues, including employee hiring, performance management and termination, reductions in force, creating and implementing policies, and drafting various employment agreements. Smith has counseled public and private clients on traditional labor issues and represented employers in labor negotiations and arbitrations.
Prior to joining Montgomery McCracken, Smith was an attorney at a large national law firm, where she focused on all labor and employment litigation issues. In addition to her career as a practicing attorney, Smith is the founding principal of a real estate development company where she directed and oversaw single and multifamily housing acquisition and development.
Smith currently serves on the executive board of the international nonprofit The Links, Incorporated, for its Delaware Valley Chapter. She previously served as a board member of The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County and Jack and Jill America, Inc. in the Montgomery County Chapter. Smith received her J.D. degree from Howard University School of Law in 1992 and earned a B.A. degree in Economics from Drew University in 1989.
