Divaris Real Estate, Inc. (DRE) announces that the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) has been awarded to Joann Gaskins, senior property manager at Divaris’ Headquarters in Virginia Beach, Va.

This designation indicates attainment of a broad knowledge of core disciplines and key skills exclusively for property and asset managers working with large portfolios of all property types. Candidates must be experienced and well-trained in every aspect of the business.

The CPM Certification Exam tests all that a candidate has learned through his or her education and experience in real estate management and ensures the integrity of the CPM designation. The exam measures professional competency in the areas of financial operations and asset management, human resources, legal and risk management, maintenance and operations and marketing and leasing.

In Joann’s position with Divaris Property Management Corp, her responsibilities include managing a mix of retail and office properties primarily in Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Joann has over 20 years of experience in commercial property management. She is a member of the Hampton Roads Virginia Chapter 39 of the Institute of Real Estate Management, where she serves as vice president of communications and chairman of the education, scholarships and diversity committees. Joann was awarded Certified Property Manager Candidate of the Year in 2016 and the Anthony W. Smith Scholarship for continuing education in the field. Joann holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia.
