Broward Health Medical Center Appoints Heather Havericak AVP Of Strategic And Administrative Services

Heather L. Havericak, MSN, CPON, FACHE

Broward Health Medical Center (BHMC) has promoted Heather L. Havericak, MSN, CPON, FACHE, to assistant vice president of Strategic and Administrative Services.

In her new role, she will provide administrative oversight to Cardiovascular Services, Oncology Services and the Adult Infusion Center, Graduate Medical Education (GME), Physician Services, Surgical Services, Palliative Care and Research.

“For more than 12 years, Heather has demonstrated her ability to empower her teams by providing effective coaching, feedback and mentoring. Her experience, knowledge and leadership skills make her the right choice to head up BHMC’s Strategic and Administrative Services,” stated Sandra Todd-Atkinson, Chief Executive Officer of Broward Health Medical Center.

Havericak has been at Broward Health Medical Center since 2006. She has served in various management positions overseeing a number of teams in her 12 years at BHMC, most recently serving as director of Product Line Services. She has also held the positions of regional director of Oncology Service Line, and nurse manager of the Pediatric Oncology and Sickle Cell Transition Program and Pediatric Palliative Care.

Havericak gives back to the community. She has served on numerous Broward Health committees including as an administrator of the Pediatric and Adult Cancer Committee, chair of the Palliative Care Committee, Breast Program leadership, co-chair of the Cancer Quality Subcommittee, co-chair of the Chemotherapy Utilization and Financial Oversight Committee, member of Pharmacy and Therapeutics, member of the Regional Lab Improvement Committee, member of the Regional Quality Council, member of Leadership and Accreditation Oversight Committee, chair of Research Development Committee for Broward Health System, member of Research Oversight Committee, member of Physician Oncology Utilization and Peer Review, Grants Committee member, chair of System Wide Oncology Task Force, Term Architect, and Young Presidents Council Member. Havericak serves as the current Chairman of the Board of Directors for Gilda’s Club of South Florida.

Havericak’s most recent acknowledgments for her professional and charitable work include being recognized as a Distinguished Alumni from the College of Dupage School of Nursing, finalist of South Florida Business Journal “2015 Up and Comer Awards” in healthcare and the January 2015 Healthcare Hero Award from Broward Health Foundation.

Havericak is a registered nurse in the State of Florida. She holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Florida International University and a Master of Science in nursing administration from Indiana State University. She is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare executives and is a Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse (CPON). Havericak is also an Association Healthcare Executives (FACHE) fellow; and is affiliated with the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO).
