NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In a move aimed at accelerating growth and expanding its core business of supporting governments, corporations, and institutions worldwide, Richard Attias & Associates (RA&A) has reinforced its leadership team with the appointment of two key executives to newly created positions. Panos Tzivanidis, the former Director of Events for the International Olympic Committee (IOC), will serve as CEO while Maureen Mitchell, the former Director of Scheduling and Operations for the Office of House Speaker Paul D. Ryan, will serve as Chief of Staff. Richard Attias, who founded RA&A in 2009, will continue to serve as its Executive Chairman.
RA&A is a global advisory firm that develops communications strategies, conferences, and live public events for governments, corporations, and institutions including the Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Public Investment Fund, the Misk Foundation, the IOC, and the World Bank. RA&A is a minority subsidiary of WPP (NASDAQ: WPPGY), the world’s largest communications services group.
According to Attias, RA&A’s new leadership team will enable it to further expand its global footprint and implement even higher-impact initiatives and live events for its clients in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
“We are thrilled to have Panos and Maureen join RA&A as they share our passion and belief in the power of bringing people together to solve challenges, spur action, and create change,” said Attias. “Their addition will allow us to build on our existing momentum and to develop our expertise in branding nations and corporations.”
Prior to RA&A, Tzivianidis spent nearly 20 years overseeing operations, strategic planning, and production for many of the world’s largest events and institutions including the Olympic Games, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), and SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication), where he oversaw Sibos, the world’s premier annual financial services conference.
“After working for many years for prestigious organizations such as IOC, UEFA, and SWIFT, it is a privilege to collaborate with the exceptionally talented RA&A team in transforming our clients’ ideas and visions into concrete platforms,” said Tzivianidis.
Mitchell brings to RA&A more than two decades of management experience for companies such as Koch Industries, Giuliani Partners, Capitol Hill, and numerous state, local, and national political campaigns.
