Art Assets to Curate Lobby Artwork by Marela Zacarias at ABS’ Flatiron Property
Full-service commercial real estate firm ABS Partners Real Estate, LLC. today announced a new partnership with Art Assets, a national art advisory firm, to curate a new, custom art installation at 915 Broadway. Two- and three-dimensional pieces of vibrant art by Marela Zacarias will adorn the lobby of the Flatiron District office building, which is home to tenants like Union Square Ventures and Stanford University.
“915 Broadway is a high-quality New York City office building that hasgreat bones, ceiling heights, and presence on one of the best tech corridors in the world. The property has undergone comprehensive upgrades and renovations to fulfill the needs of today’s tenant. These changes have helped attract 200,000 square feet worth of new leases over the past four years,” said Alex Kaskel, a managing director at ABS. “In addition to the floor-by-floor upgrades and façade renovations, these new pieces will bring a new dimension to an already redefined address. Our work with Art Assets speaks to how ABS continues to stay on the cutting edge of commercial real estate, unafraid to take risks to attract the right tenancy.”
The installation at 915 Broadway will be comprised of striking sculptures and banners made of wood, screen, plaster, acrylic polymer and acrylic paint. Zacarias’ work will be on display in the building’s double-height lobby; additional pieces will be on display in the lobby of the building’s second entrance, located at 10 East 21st Street, which is used exclusively by General Assembly, a tenant of the building.
“The lobby at 915 Broadway is a perfect canvas for Zacarias’ organic, lively installation – it’s a smaller space, so the art stands out and creates a powerful synergy. This new artwork will help curate a robust tenant experience; the modern art is a thoughtful contrast to the property’s original, detailed façade,” said Jia Jia, the creative director at Art Assets. “The tenancy at the building is also very modern and young, which is the audience that these particular pieces of art appeal to. This installation will heighten the sense of energy that the space exudes, attracting passerby’s and potential tenants to the property.”
915 Broadway is a 20-story, 250,000-square-foot building in the heart of the Flatiron District. The modernized building has dual-attended lobbies and direct fiber connections in every space. Located at the corner of Broadway and 21st Street, the building is close to a variety of dining and shopping and is a short walk to both Madison Square Park and Union Square. 915 Broadway is easily accessible by public transportation via the 1, 4, 5, 6, L, M N, Q, R and F subway lines, and the 23rd Street PATH Station.
