Meredith Woo’s first visit to Sweet Briar College wasn’t planned.
Several years ago, Woo was headed to Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest and got lost along the way.
That’s when she first saw Sweet Briar.
“It arose like a mirage,” Woo recalled in an interview Monday.
Now Woo has a bird’s-eye view of the picturesque, rural campus from her presidential office.
Though she officially came on board in May, she was inaugurated Friday in a ceremony on the Sweet Briar campus, where students, staff, faculty and alumnae celebrated their new president.
