KPMG CEO And Powhatan Resident Shares Her Rise Through The Ranks And Secrets To Success

Lynne Doughtie was thinking about her 30 years of experience and what she could bring to the table in 2015 when she was named U.S. chairwoman and CEO of accounting giant KPMG.

The Powhatan County resident didn’t realize then the importance of being the first woman to lead one of the Big Four accounting and professional services firms, overseeing more than 30,000 employees.

As she traveled the country to visit KPMG offices, the response was always the same. She would be greeted by a receptionist, most always a woman, who would get up from her desk to hug her and say something to the effect, “I am so proud to work here with a woman CEO.”
