COO Thomas Bardenett Resigns from Extended Stay America

The chief operating officer at hotel company Extended Stay America Inc. has resigned from the company, according to a filing Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Thomas Bardenett has been chief operating officer of the company since Jan. 5, 2015.

His resignation is effective as of Sept. 22.

Bardenett’s resignation does not involve any disagreement with the company or its operations.

Bardenett received $515,000 as a base salary in 2015 and $1,437,932 in total compensation, namely due to stock options, according to the company’s proxy statement.

Before joining the Charlotte-based company, Bardenett served as an executive vice president of Crossroads Hospitality Division of Interstate Hotels & Resorts Inc. since 2005 in Washington, D.C.

Extended Stay America is the largest integrated hotel owner/operator in North America.

Its subsidiary, ESH Hospitality Inc., contains over 620 hotels and 68,000 rooms in the U.S.

Extended Stay America shares rose roughly 2.43 percent to $20.20 Wednesday.
