Orioles End West Coast Trip With 7-6 Loss To Mariners

For the last month, the Orioles' starting pitching has generally been solid, and it's carried the team along with it.

From July 17-Aug. 14, Orioles starters only had one start shorter than five innings. During that time, the Orioles went 17-11 and got back into the wild-card conversation.

On Aug. 16, right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez allowed six runs in 4.1 innings, a night after lefty Wade Miley was pulled after 4.2 innings.

After the Orioles scored three runs against the Seattle Mainers in the top of the fifth Aug, 16, Jimenez gave up three runs in the bottom of the inning, and his team was on its way to a 7-6 loss before 33,448 at Safeco Field.
