Join the Eighth Annual Patently Impossible Project

8/17/17

On Thursday, November 2, 2017 the Intellectual Property Committee of the Dade County Bar Association will host the 8th Annual Patently Impossible Project to benefit Dade Legal Aid, the oldest civil legal services provider to indigent children, women and families in Miami-Dade County.  "It gets bigger and better every year," said Jaime Rich Vining, Chair, an Intellectual Property Attorney with Friedland Vining. "The event will feature 20 teams of attorney inventors competing against one another in this charity race to assemble a patented invention." Guests will “bet” on their favorite contestant by purchasing raffle tickets for incredible door prizes, including Heat tickets, Marlins memorabilia and hotel stays donated by local sponsors. In addition to watching contestants compete to assemble the invention, guests will enjoy a grand silent auction and complimentary cocktail reception from the sidelines alongside 300+ who’s who of local celebrities, judges, engineers, brand owners, startups and corporate counsel. Heartfelt thanks to the scores of Corporate Sponsors who have helped raise over $150,000 and made this event possible over the years. Special thanks to this year's Corporate Sponsors (as of July 27): Delegate IP, Association of Corporate Counsel, South Florida Chapter, Kenny Nachwalter, P.A., Sabadell United Bank, Shook Hardy & Bacon, Viscaya, DLE Legal, Ius Juris, LLC, U.S. Legal Support, South Florida Paralegal Association, Veritext National Deposition and Litigation, Edam Law, Patent Awards and many more...Visit www.dadelegalaid.org for details and a complete listing of sponsors and silent auction donors or email vining at JRV@friedlandvining.com

Dade Legal Aid provides free civil legal services to thousands of qualifying low income residents of Miami-Dade County. In practice for over 65 years, it provides in house legal services and pro bono referrals to a cadre of volunteer lawyers from over 250 law firms, corporations, voluntary bar associations and law schools.  In 2016, Dade Legal Aid served 5,000 clients utilizing dedicated staff attorneys who specialize in family law, domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, child and teen advocacy, guardianship, housing, bankruptcy, benefits and foreclosure. Through Put Something Back, pro bono private sector attorneys and law firm participants are matched with clients in need in all areas of civil law including housing, consumer, small claims, immigration, insurance, not-for-profits, homelessness, general civil, etc. Unfortunately, devastating funding cuts have reduced Dade Legal Aid’s staff and ability to serve the ever-growing legal needs of the indigent population in Miami Dade. Dade Legal Aid needs you now more than ever before! RSVP to Committee Chair, Jaime Rich Vining at jrv@friedlandvining.com or (305) 777-1720 or online at www.dadelegalaid.org.
