A lot more people are going to be seeing how good the food they buy is.

Greenpoint’s HowGood announced on Twitter Tuesday that it has partnered with Giant Food Stores to begin adding ratings to products in 167 supermarkets in D.C., Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.

HowGood has rated more than 250,000 food products based on how ethically they were produced. The company has dozens of metrics by which they judge products, including the sustainability of its growth and shipping and labor practices. With all the metrics, it creates a profile of each product and stickers for their packaging with ratings like Good, Better and Best for the world. The goal is to help shoppers who want sustainable and ethical food have more information for their purchases.
