After an outstanding first six days with the Orioles, shortstop Tim Beckham was celebrating his first American League Player of the Week Award.
In that week, Beckham, who was obtained July 31 from the Tampa Bay Rays, batted .583 with three home runs, six RBIs, 14 hits and six runs scored.
"He was Player of the Week in six days," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "He didn't even need all week."
