Michael Best Enhances Corporate & Transactional Practice Group with Cheryl I. Aaron in Washington, D.C.

Michael Best is pleased to announce it has added Cheryl I. Aaron to its Washington, D.C., office as senior counsel in the firm’s Corporate & Transactional Practice Group. Aaron also joins Michael Best’s Derivatives practice, in which she will represent swap dealers and end-users on regulatory and transactional matters.

Aaron counsels financial institutions, energy companies, and commodity trading firms on a wide range of derivatives and banking matters, including compliance with the Dodd Frank Act and related rulemakings and guidance issued by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Reserve, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Specifically, she advises clients on cross-border trading, capital, margin, regulatory reporting, and federal deposit insurance, among other things. She also advises financial service clients on various issues concerning blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.

Beyond her practice, Aaron is a member of the Anti-Defamation League’s Washington, DC Executive Committee and Regional Board, is a member of the DC Bar Association Foundation Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council, and is an associate trustee of the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs.

Aaron received her J.D. from Boston College Law School, her LL.M. in Securities and Financial Regulation from the Georgetown University Law Center, and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
