Jay Pelham, president of TotalBank, has been appointed to the United Way of Miami-Dade’s Board of Directorsafter serving on the organization’s Advisory Council. Pelham officially joined the Board in June 2017 and will lend his expertise until 2020.

United Way’s board is comprised of corporate and community leaders whose strategic decision-making and guidance furthers the organization’s mission of building community by helping people care for one another and ensures the highest levels of governance and stewardship.

Prior to his Board of Directors election, Pelham served on the United Way Advisory Council, comprised of key community leaders, appointed by the United Way Board, who use their expertise and leadership to provide insight to the organization’s Chair, President and Board Members. Jay has been a United Way trustee for several years and is also a Tocqueville Society member. His appointment to the Board follows his recent tenure as past Chairman of the Board of Trustees for History Miami. Pelham is also a member and former Board Chairman of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Miami. He has previously held board positions with the Zoological Society of South Florida (Zoo Miami), Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, the Coconut Grove Playhouse, and the Miami-Dade Chapter of the American Heart Association.
