Stephen Ridgely Smith

Stephen Ridgely Smith is the President of Gaylord Brooks Realty Company, a full service real estate development and brokerage firm. Primarily focused on residential development in the Baltimore metropolitan region, Gaylord Brooks also owns and manages boutique office space throughout the area. Tenured 30 years with Gaylord Brooks, Steve's primary responsibilities involve the acquisition, entitlement and development of new residential communities.

Steve currently serves as Treasurer of the Baltimore County Soil Conservation District, where he has been a member of their Board of Supervisors for the past 20 years. He is a Life Board Member of the Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA), having also served on its Executive Committee, and is the Treasurer of MBIA's Baltimore County PAC. A lifelong sailor, Steve has been active with Baltimore's Downtown Sailing Center, having served as President of the board and currently as a member of the Center's Afterguard. A graduate of Eckerd College, Steve is a member of the Leadership Baltimore County class of '93 and is a recipient of MBIA's Land Developer of the Year award.

Mr. Smith's decades of of leadership in the home building industrty will be a very welcomed addition to the BCEDC Board in its policy deliberations. The BCEDC looks forward to the energetic and experienced input that Steve Smith will be bringing to the business and jo9bs advocacy of Baltimore County said BCEDC Chairman Robert E. Latshaw, Jr.
