Womble Carlyle announced today the creation of Womble Carlyle Immigration Solutions, a practice dedicated to providing immigration services for domestic and international employers and investors. The new business service will be led by Jennifer Cory, a veteran immigration attorney and certified Specialist in Immigration Law by the North Carolina State Bar. Cory will be based in the firm’s Charlotte, N.C. office.
“Employers today are drawing from a talent pool that covers the globe but getting those individuals into the U.S. can be very difficult, as we have seen with the recent travel ban for example,” Cory said. “My team and I are focused on streamlining the immigration process for clients and producing quick results so their people are where they need them, when they need them.”
Womble Carlyle Immigration Solutions offers strategic immigration planning with a focus on employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions, including, preparation of treaty investor/trader visa applications, H-1B temporary worker petitions and L-1 intra-company transfer petitions, as well as applications for permanent employment certification for advanced degree professionals and skilled workers and priority worker petitions for individuals of extraordinary ability, outstanding professors and researchers, and multinational executives and managers.
In addition to an efficient approach to immigration solutions for employers and investors, Immigration Solutions enhances compliance services provided by the Firm’s Labor and Employment practice team. Womble Carlyle offers a range of immigration compliance programs such as Form I-9 audits, E-verify compliance programs, training on employment immigration compliance, and representation of employers in immigration-related government investigations and audits.
Creation of the new team comes amid other significant moves by Womble Carlyle to strengthen its market position among multinational companies. The firm will finalize a combination in the 4th quarter of this year with U.K. law firm Bond Dickinson.
