The Search Committee of the Baltimore Community Foundation has announced selection of The 360 Group and its founder and managing partner Vincent Robinson to lead the search for BCF’s next president and CEO. The Search Committee, co-chaired by BCF trustees Josh Fidler and Stu Simms, was formed after the March announcement of the forthcoming retirement of longtime BCF president and CEO Tom Wilcox.

Vincent Robinson and his boutique firm have broad experience and deep expertise in community foundations and their leadership. His “citizen-centered search” strategy starts by getting to know Baltimore and BCF as an ecosystem to lay the groundwork for a customized search that will deliver a pool of candidates whose skills, experiences, diversity, creativity and proven effectiveness will drive BCF forward. The Search Committee believes that the process undertaken by The 360 Group, drawing upon results of BCF’s recent strategic planning process, will heighten community engagement with BCF.

“Selection of a new leader for BCF is an exciting and important strategic moment,” says Mr. Robinson. “BCF — and Baltimore — are very appealing to potential candidates; the position at BCF will be highly sought after by outstanding candidates across the country. We view our job as delivering a broad, deep and diverse pool of candidates whose values and capabilities match the organization’s goals and can take BCF forward.”

The search process will begin with in-person interviews by The 360 Group of BCF stakeholders during the month of August. From those interviews and 360’s review of BCF’s strategic strengths, opportunities and objectives, Mr. Robinson and his team, working closely with the BCF Search Committee and Board, will construct a position description and a search plan. The 360 Group will then actively solicit applicants nationwide. Candidate selection is expected to last through the rest of the year, with the final candidate selected and announced by early 2018.
