BCN Development, lead by Craig Nassi, is planning a 10,181 square-foot five-story, six-unit condominium building at 137 Carlton Avenue in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. A mix of one, two, and three bedroom units organized as duplexes and triplexes, the building will bring a modern sensibility to the rapidly developing area of Fort Greene. Construction will begin September 2017 and will be completed in May 2018.

"Truly great architecture makes a difference in developing neighborhoods. Fort Greene is primed for innovative architecture, since the neighborhood is growing and becoming more desirable," said Craig Nassi, President of BCN Development.

Architect Murat Mutlu’s unusual design for the building will feature a stucco façade and nearly floor-to-ceiling windows with a louver system to let in sunlight yet maintain a sense of privacy. With ceilings rising 10 feet, each unit, whether a 700 square-foot one bedroom, a 1300 square-foot two bedroom, or a 1650 square-foot three bedroom, feels open and expansive. The condos will be minimal and sleek with kitchens featuring European appliances like Miele and Poggenpohl and bathrooms including Duravit and Toto fixtures. Preconstruction prices for the units begin at $700K and range as high as $1.8M.

“We developed a building design which is made of stacked rectangular boxes that are strategically configured for every floor to accommodate different functions,” said architect Murat Mutlu. “Each floor has a unique feature such as a canopy, direct views, a sloped skylight, and a setback roof terrace. The building form is sculpted to create a visually distinctive and yet functional structure, which is exactly what Craig Nassi wanted to achieve.”

Only a block away from Fort Greene Park, one block from the Navy Yard redevelopment, and close to public transportation, 137 Carlton Avenue is ideally located. Fort Greene is an area that is undergoing many changes. 137 Carlton will contribute to the area’s revitalization.
