Junior Achievement of Central Maryland Elects Tom Sadowski as Board Chair

Junior Achievement of Central Maryland Inc. (JA), a non-profit organization dedicated to educating young people to succeed in an ever-changing economy, announced that Tom Sadowski will be the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

As vice chancellor for economic development at the University System of Maryland (USM), Sadowski supports statewide university-industry-government collaborations and serves as the system’s primary liaison for recruiting and growing companies. Sadowski holds more than 25 years of economic development experience and multiple awards under his belt. He has also acquired various leadership positions at local and regional levels.

“Tom’s outstanding work on the Board of Directors has made us confident that he will fulfill this new role with the same dedication,” said Jennifer Bodensiek, President and CEOfor Junior Achievement of Central Maryland. “Tom’s diverse work background along with his deep understanding and commitment to our goals shows us that he will bring energy and expertise to our organization at an exciting time of growth.”

Before his position at USM, Sadowski served as president and CEO of the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore where he drove executive sales and investment missions to major markets such as Austin, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Detroit, New York, New Jersey, San Diego, San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

Sadowski leaves an active footprint in the Baltimore community with a membership on many boards related to business, public policy, education and health. He is currently a part of the Maryland Public Private Marketing Corporation, Betamore, University of Maryland Medical System and Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation, BioHealth Innovation, Inc., UMBC Training Centers and the Maryland Chamber of Commerce.

A 1989 graduate of University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Sadowski holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Public Admin and Policy.
