John Fitzpatrick and Sarah Morgenthau Join Nardello & Co. as Managing Directors

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nardello & Co. LLC, a leading global investigations firm, today announced that John Fitzpatrick will be joining its London office on June 12th as a Managing Director and General Counsel for EMEA, and Sarah Morgenthau will be joining the firm as a Managing Director in its Washington, DC office on June 26th.

Mr. Fitzpatrick was previously a senior partner at CMS Cameron McKenna, and Ms. Morgenthau was previously a Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security.

Mr. Fitzpatrick has over 22 years of international legal, compliance and regulatory experience, providing counsel to a broad range of clients across a variety of sectors throughout Europe. He has significant expertise in multi-jurisdictional transactions, litigation and arbitration, and has regularly advised major multinational corporations on significant regulatory and compliance issues, including civil and criminal matters.

Ms. Morgenthau is a national security expert with extensive experience as an executive leader and practicing attorney in both the public and private sectors. She has nearly a decade of experience working in Washington, D.C., with a deep network of government and private sector relationships and expertise in cybersecurity, homeland security and crisis management.

Biographies

John Fitzpatrick

Mr. Fitzpatrick joins Nardello & Co. from international law firm CMS Cameron McKenna, currently the 6th largest law firm in the UK and the 6th largest law firm in the world, where he represented multinational companies across Europe and emerging markets, including on M&A, joint ventures, equity and debt finance transactions, multi-jurisdictional transactions, strategic compliance and regulatory matters, commercial contracts, employment matters, intellectual property and dispute resolution (litigation and arbitration), in multiple sectors and industries. During his 15 year-tenure at CMS – at Hayhurst Robinson, a firm that merged with CMS, where he was a founding partner – Mr. Fitzpatrick was instrumental in building and leading the firm’s Tier 1-ranked Technology and Media Telecoms Sector Group, as well as the firm’s Istanbul office, where he was a founding and managing partner. He was also a leader in CMS’s Emerging Market Corporate and Commercial Practice Group and has been involved in matters and managing offices across emerging Europe and beyond. Prior to CMS, he was senior in-house counsel for the US headquarters of a multinational technology company, Bull HN Information Systems, and was also an associate in the Boston office of Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP and the Paris office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.

Mr. Fitzpatrick holds a B.A. in International Politics and Psychology from McGill University and a Masters of European and Comparative Law from the University of Paris, Pantheon-Assas and its Institute of Comparative Law. He received his J.D. with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law in addition to his L.L.M. with distinction in international law from Georgetown University Law Center.

Sarah Morgenthau

Prior to joining Nardello & Co., Ms. Morgenthau worked for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Private Sector Office and the Executive Director of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC). She was also previously an attorney in the Enforcement Division of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. As Deputy Assistant Secretary, Ms. Morgenthau advised the Secretary on the impact of the Department's policies, regulations, and processes on private sector companies, universities, and not-for-profit institutions, and enhanced strategic communications to foster better collaboration between the private and public sectors on national security issues. As Executive Director, Ms. Morgenthau oversaw the HSAC where she leveraged the knowledge, experience and global connections of the 40 Council members to present actionable solutions for a broad spectrum of homeland security issues. She was also responsible for overseeing the ongoing policy work of the subcommittees, including the Cybersecurity Subcommittee, Foreign Fighter Task Force, the DHS Employee Task Force, the DHS Grant Review Task Force, the CBP Integrity Advisory Panel, and the Countering Violent Extremism Subcommittee. Prior to DHS, she was appointed by President Obama as Director of Peace Corps Response for the United States Peace Corps headquarters in Washington, DC, where she led an innovative policy reform roadmap for the program’s projects and initiatives in over 50 countries. Her additional previous legal experience includes positions as a law clerk for Joseph A. Greenaway Jr., then a United States District Court judge in New Jersey, and as a litigation attorney with Curtis-Mallet, Prevost and Mosle in New York.

Ms. Morgenthau graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Political Science from Barnard College and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law.
