Inova Loudoun Hospital has become the first trauma center in Loudoun County. The hospital will now be able to treat patients with very serious and possibly life-threatening injuries.
The hospital recently received a Level III trauma center designation from the Virginia Department of Health. The designation means Inova medical professionals will provide quick assessments, resuscitation, stabilization and emergency operations. If needed, the hospital will also arrange for the transfer of the patient to a facility that can provide definitive trauma care that cannot be managed by the resources at Inova Loudoun.
“In keeping faith with our community, we are now offering trauma services,”said Deborah Addo, the new CEO at Inova Loudoun, in a prepared statement. “We have an exceptional team of emergency trained physicians, nurses and excellent surgeons to deliver this level of care to those that live and work in our area.”
