Baker Donelson's David Gevertz Named Managing Director of Advocacy Department

David Gevertz, a shareholder in Baker Donelson's Labor & Employment Group, has been named managing director of the Firm's Advocacy Department.

"David has established himself as a leader within the Firm and has proven his proficiency for the business of law and we look forward to having him assist our advocacy team apply key principles to improve performance," said Jennifer P. Keller, Baker Donelson's president and chief operating officer.

As Managing Director, Mr. Gevertz will focus on the growth, alternative pricing and profitability maximization within the Firm's Advocacy Department, which encompasses seven practice groups (business litigation; construction; health care litigation; labor and employment; new litigators; product liability and mass tort; and transportation) and includes more than 300 attorneys across Baker Donelson's 24 offices in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Mr. Gevertz will maintain his full-time practice as an employment litigator, where he tries employment discrimination, wage and hour, non-compete, whistleblowing and trade secrets cases to juries throughout the country. He also directs companies through sensitive internal and government investigations, and mass layoffs. Mr. Gevertz is a frequent author and speaker on topics, including social media, health care and leave, hiring and termination concerns, and employment trends. He has been listed as a top Labor & Employment lawyer in Georgia by Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers since 2009 and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® since 2014 and by Georgia Super Lawyers since 2009.
