Transwestern Represents America’s Test Kitchen in 50 Percent Headquarters Expansion, Relocation

52,856 SF Lease at Boston’s Innovation & Design Building Includes Video Studios, Kitchens

Transwestern today announces it represented America’s Test Kitchen in a 52,856-square-foot headquarters lease at the Innovation & Design Building, located at 21 – 25 Drydock Ave. in Boston’s Seaport District. Transwestern Partners Michael Joyce, Tom Ashe and Brian McKenzie represented America’s Test Kitchen in the transaction.

“The goal wasn’t simply to find a larger space, though that was certainly a driving factor,” said David Nussbaum, CEO and chairman of the board, America’s Test Kitchen. “What attracted America’s Test Kitchen to this location was the opportunity to dramatically expand our kitchen and studio facilities, to create an open-floor plan that offers employees a more collaborative and communicative workspace, and to be in a space where we can better interact with our visitors and fans."

Almost double the size of its current location in Brookline, the Innovation & Design Building accommodates America’s Test Kitchen’s recent growth and offers the company the chance to create more television and video content, as well as more recipes and product reviews for its millions of fans. The location will include 17,500 square feet of production space, including various state-of-the-art kitchens, three dedicated television and video studios and multiple photo and editing studios. More than 200 employees will move into the Innovation & Design Building in summer 2017.

According to Transwestern research, Boston’s Seaport District consisted of 9.3 million square feet of office space with 9.4 percent vacancy at the close of fourth quarter 2016.
