Miller & Martin Adds Six New Associates Across Corporate, Commercial and Litigation Practices

Miller & Martin PLLC recently added six new associates across its corporate, commercial and litigation practices in the firm’s Atlanta, Ga. and Chattanooga, Tenn. offices. Mitch Blanchard and Varsha Ghodasra are in the corporate group and Rachael Waxler Ruiz and Alaina Young are in the commercial group, while Jared Cohen and Haley Moody have joined the firm’s litigation practice.

Mitch Blanchard, Atlanta, practices with a focus on general corporate and securities issues, mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and matters involving start-up and emerging companies. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Georgia and earned his juris doctor from Duke University School of Law, where he served as Senior Staff Editor of the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law and Public Policy.

Jared Cohen, Atlanta, focuses his practice in the areas of labor and employment and business litigation, with experience and special interest in international law. Cohen earned a bachelor’s in international affairs and divided his law school studies between Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, GA and the University of Miami School of Law in Miami, Fla. His court admissions include the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Georgia, and the Supreme Court of Georgia. Cohen is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association and its Young Lawyers Division, as well as the Georgia Bar Association. He studied international law in Lyon, France and is proficient in French.

Varsha Ghodasra, Chattanooga, focuses her practice on complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, and advising clients on corporate governance issues. Her bar admissions include Tennessee, Illinois, New York and Pennsylvania. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from University of Georgia and bachelor’s degree in English from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Haley Moody, Chattanooga, concentrates her practice in Litigation. Moody earned her Juris Doctor degree from Tulane University Law School. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Alabama, where she was a Presidential Scholar and competed in varsity NCAA Division I Cross-Country and Track & Field.

Rachael Waxler Ruiz, Chattanooga, focuses her practice in the area of commercial real estate and also has experience with matters involving environmental law and workplace safety/OSHA. Ruiz graduated from Tulane University where she obtained a B.A. in Environmental Policy and International Relations. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Tulane University Law School and was the recipient of the C.J. Morrow Scholars Scholarship Award. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association.

Alaina Young, Atlanta, focuses her practice on commercial real estate transactions, including the representation of institutional investors, lenders and developers in a wide range of real estate matters including financing, acquisition, disposition, leasing and contractual drafting and interpretation. Young graduated from Dickinson College with a bachelor’s degree in English before earning her Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law. She holds a State of Georgia Resident Title Insurance License and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Real Estate Section, as well as the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
