Y in Central Maryland Announces Three New Hires

The Y in Central Maryland is pleased to announce the hiring of LaNae Croxton as human resources director of youth development, Nia Jones as human resources manager of youth development and Matt Lewis as executive director of the Y in Pasadena.

Croxton, previously the director of organizational development and learning for Catholic Charities of Baltimore, is now the human resources director of youth development for the Y. She has nearly 30 years of experience in the human resources field in both the not-for profit and private sectors, having worked previously for Zurich/Farmers Insurance Group, Constellation Energy and Laureate Education. Croxton received her bachelor’s degree in education and English from the University of Maryland, her master’s degree in American literature from Morgan State University and an executive master’s in business administration from Loyola University. She enjoys spending time with her son, Brandon, his wife, Carol, and her two-year-old grandson, Ryan.

Jones, previously the director of talent for KIPP Baltimore, is now the human resources manager of youth development for the Y. Throughout her career, Jones has served in human resources roles with Baltimore City Public Schools and The New Teacher Project, and brings her experience in leading large education and youth development hiring initiatives and in leveraging social media platforms to attract candidates to the Y. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Morgan State University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in social work from Morgan. Jones lives in Baltimore City with her husband, Bryce, and son, Jackson, who will be starting preschool at the Y in the fall.

Lewis brings a long Y career with a strong program, camp and center operations background to his new role as executive director of the Y in Pasadena. For the past 10 years, he has served in various roles with the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. Most recently, Lewis was the executive director of the South Boston Family Center Y. He received his bachelor’s degree in recreation and leisure studies from Virginia Wesleyan College. He is also a member of the YUSA Training and Leadership Development Advisory Board and holds his Organizational Leadership Certification. Lewis currently resides in Pasadena with his wife.
