On-Demand Meeting, Workspace Provider is Third Tech Startup Tenant to Join Building

Transwestern announces tech startup Breather has signed a lease at One Thomas Circle in Washington, D.C. Transwestern Executive Vice President Joe Michel and Vice President Scott Fetterolf represented building ownership GE Asset Management in the transaction.

“We’ve had a number of tech tenants moving to One Thomas Circle in the last 18 months, and we are excited to add another innovative company like Breather to the community,” said Michel. “The property is near a spectacular amenity base in the neighboring 14th Street Corridor, one of the hottest submarkets in the District and a major driver in the leasing momentum we’ve seen lately.”

Breather, which provides on-demand meeting and work spaces in commercial office buildings, has an extensive client list that includes hundreds of leading corporations such as Google, Uber, Facebook and Apple, as well as other technology, advertising, media, information and creative companies.

“One Thomas Circle is located near dozens of the leading technology companies that make up our core clientele,” said Laura Keitges, who manages Breather’s leasing in Washington, D.C., and Chicago. “To best serve our clients, Breather is always in the market for well-located office spaces with plenty of natural light, great internet connectivity and beautiful details. In addition to checking all those boxes, One Thomas Circle offers a convenient location, proximity to mass transit and great views. We’re excited about the opportunity to continue growing our footprint in the D.C. metro area and beyond.”

Other notable tenants to join One Thomas Circle in the last 18 months include TrackMaven, a firm providing marketing analytics software;FiscalNote, which provides a platform for real-time government analysis that aggregates, analyzes and predicts government action; andPerkins Eastman, one of the top design and architecture firms in the world. The property’s location near the 14th Street Corridor and multiple transportation options was a key factor in each of these companies choosing One Thomas Circle, as well as the abundant natural light, flexibility for growth and outdoor and event space.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Greg Culver represented Breather in the transaction.

Breather has 180 locations across 10 global cities. Since its launch in the Washington, D.C., market earlier this year, the tech firm has opened four locations in two buildings: 727 15th St. NW and 1003 K St. NW. In addition to One Thomas Circle, Breather will open more locations in the coming months in the Central Business District, East End/Penn Quarter, Capitol Hill, Georgetown and West End submarkets.
