WHAT: Southwest Partnership Hosts 2016 Democratic Mayoral Candidate Forum

All are invited to meet 2016 Democratic candidates Sheila Dixon, Catherine Pugh, Carl Stokes, Nick Mosby, Elizabeth Embry, Calvin Young, Cindy Walsh, Patrick Gutierrez, and Deray McKessan*. The questions each candidate will be asked are directly connected to the implementation of the Southwest Partnership vision plan.

Candidates will be asked to give a two-minute introductory statement about their candidacy. After the introductory statements, the candidates will be asked to respond to six questions that focus on: Public Safety, Housing, Economic Development, Youth, Transportation and Vibrant Streets. At the end of the forum, the candidates will be given a list of questions from community members that they have been asked to respond to; the answers will be shared on the Southwest Partnership website at

The Southwest Partnership is comprised of 13 equal partners: seven neighborhoods (Barre Circle, Hollins Roundhouse; Pigtown; Franklin Square Mount Clare; Poppleton and Union Square) and six anchor institutions (The University of Maryland Medical System; Bon Secours Baltimore Health System; The B&O Railroad Museum; The University of Maryland, Baltimore; The University of Maryland Biopark; and Wexford Science and Technology).
